Green Building Services, Inc. (GBS) offers an engaging overview of the Living Building Challenge, an ambitious rating system newly developed by the Cascadia Chapter of the US Green Building Council to define the highest measure of sustainability attainable in the built environment. This session will cover the rating system structure and guide you through its most rigorous aspects. Through project case studies, you will learn what strategies can make the Living Building Challenge achievable and how it informs building design.

Learn about the phases of a typical LEED for Commercial Interiors project, including key decisions that project teams must make and guidance on how to make them and how to communicate with team members. Engage with other participants in interactive activities using case examples to enable you to work hands-on with LEED tools, project templates in LEED Online v3 and implementation strategies. At the end of this workshop, you should be able to apply your newfound knowledge to real-life LEED for Commercial Interiors projects.

This workshop is designed to provide a complete review of the LEED® for Schools Rating System and how to apply it on school projects. You'll acquire the tools and insights you need to incorporate green building practices into your work, including case studies of certified school projects illustrating successful strategies and practices for improving school design and performance.
