Congregation Neveh Shalom Exterior Rendering Persuing LEED-NC Certification

Congregation Neveh Shalom
Congregation Neveh Shalom is an existing religious institution that expanded its footprint by 8,945 square feet with a total addition of 13,745 square feet.  The expansion houses 6,510 square foot of additional Chapel and mechanical space near the Sanctuary and adds 7,235 square feet of administrative and assembly space to the existing Classroom wing.  The existing office space accommodates the existing Day Care, Hebrew School, Adult Education courses in association with the Religious School, weekly and holiday services, and events such as Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, and memorials. 


Dunedin Community Center, LEED Silver

Dunedin Community Center
Located in Highlander Park, the 45,000 SF Dunedin Community center provides nearly an acre of interior space for education, entertainment, exercise, and training.  The center has both an indoor and an outdoor theater stage, a banquet hall that can seat 300 people, a mirrored dance studio, a fully-equipped fitness center, classrooms, office space, a recording studio and home to a branch library. Before and during design, the building’s mechanical and electrical systems were evaluated and the construction materials were carefully chosen to make the center energy efficient and environmentally responsible.  This project was awarded LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council in 2007.

Oregon Convention Center
The Oregon Convention Center (OCC) is the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest, encompassing nearly one million square feet on an 18-acre campus.  The 350,000 square foot expansion was registered under the LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) pilot program and achieved certification in November 2004.  The OCC established a Green Team to track the facility's performance on recycling; energy consumption and water usage and help the facility achieve LEED-EB goals. OCC established a set of standards that allow the facility to operate at maximum efficiency. These include guidelines on managing green housekeeping, cleaning products, lighting fixtures, disposable products, and a continuous commissioning process to document building performance.  The center has been upgrading fixtures and equipment in pursuit of LEED certification for the entire million square foot facility. 


The Gerding Theater

The Gerding Theater
Built in 1891, the Oregon National Guard Armory building is one of the Northwest?s most significant 19th century buildings, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The 55,000 SF building reopened on October 1, 2006 as the permanent home for Portland Center Stage with a 600-seat main stage and a 200-seat studio theater.  In addition to the performance venues and rehearsal hall, a community space will accommodate meetings, conferences and civic events. The Gerding Theater is the first building on the National Register of Historic Places and the first building in Oregon to achieve Platinum LEED certification.
